Postdoc in Pathology/Digital Pathology (m/f)

Your tasks and responsibilities

• Act as active member (m/f) of a large interdisciplinary and cross-organizational team, including scientists from both Bayer Pharma and Crop Science divisions across Europe
• Collaborate with other scientists from research and/or mechanistic toxicologic pathology and the bioinformatics group as well as leading academic research groups
• Be responsible for the identification and selection of annotation parameters for developing and testing deep learning methods to segment and classify digital pathology images within toxicologic pathology
• Contribute to the implementation of a deep learning platform providing impact on digital toxicologic pathology as well as leverage data in pathology using deep learning
• Be part of a cross-organizational team, applying deep learning within the research and development organization on existing massive data sets
• Identify and select annotation parameters for histopathological findings for deep learning algorithmic set up
• Extensively validate and further improve the deep learning platform through comparing data set results with routine histology diagnostics and/or immunohistochemical staining results

 

Who you are

• Pathologist (m/f) in veterinary or human medicine with a PhD degree or Doctoral thesis in pathology
• Expertise in tissue morphology and pathology
• Experience with digital pathology and image analysis would be a plus
• Highly creative and good problem solving ability as well as willingness to undertake challenging analysis tasks
• Ability to work effectively and independently in cross-functional teams in an interdisciplinary IT project
• Good communication and presentation capabilities
• Curiosity and passion for research
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken
