Research Scientist/PostDoc Machine Learning for Chemical Synthesis (m/f)
Your tasks and responsibilities
- Develop natural language processing models for efficient harmonization of internal reaction data
- Evaluate externally developed prediction models and integrate in-house data into their training workflow
- Support development of a retrosynthesis and reaction prediction tool based on novel deep learning approaches to increase efficiency of day-to-day synthesis planning in chemistry R&D functions
- Design, compose and deliver presentations and publications
- Collaborate and interact with an international, interdisciplinary cross-divisional team comprising synthetic chemists, chem- and bioinformaticians, computer scientists, mathematicians and deep learning experts (m/f)
Who you are
- PhD or equivalent in machine learning, computer science, statistics or related field
- Demonstrated practical experience with state of the art machine learning methods and model selection concepts as well as with at least one deep learning framework (keras, mxnet, tensorflow, etc.)
- Extensive research knowledge and strong publication record in machine learning and/or cheminformatics, ideally publications in top journals or machine learning conferences such as NIPS, ICML, ICLR, or AISTATS
- Profound knowledge of at least one scripting language (e.g. R or Python) and practical experience with GPUs and Linux high performance clusters
- Interest in convolutional neural networks, recurrent neural networks, sequence to sequence learning, natural language processing and strong incentive to extend your expertise in these areas
- Interest in organic synthesis and synthetic chemistry and strong willingness to develop expertise in these areas
- Willingness to write industrial-grade code and documentation
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English) in an interdisciplinary environment
