Key Account Manager - Industrial Generation (m/f)
- Identify and target new business opportunities within specific industry sectors (Chemical, Paper & Pulp) in line with the overall IG business strategy
- Liaise with IG Solution Development to jointly evaluate opportunities and qualify leads
- Transfer accountability of qualified leads and related information to the IG Solution Development upon request
- Lead & coordinate support resources for sales process until hand-over of qualified leads and then provide the appropriate level of sales support to the respective IG functions especially in the contract award process
- Establish & continuously develop long-term customer relationships within the respective target industries
- Identify & engage in industry forums, associations & several other networking opportunities to strengthen market presence of the business, identify and understand client’s specific key drivers and build up a deep industry & customer knowledge basis
- Provide continual feedback & guidance to local & wider business support and management functions – engages business at all levels
- Communicate & report on the current status of lead generation activities to IG Solution Development on a regular basis
- Escalate customer requests or complaints to the responsible IG department head of the respective project phase in order to clarify customer issues over the course of the project
- Works at a high level across a number of business and client functions and engages in a wide range of complex issues
- Also responsible for the specific detail within the sales processes and generated outcomes (documentation, presentation)
- Senior Expert within the dedicated industry segment, ideally based on long term experience in management role in relation to customer production site energy supply
- Ideally several years of experience in selling B2B solutions and/or services to customers in Chemical, Pulp & Paper industries and have a deep knowledge and proven successful relationship with prospects within the respective target industries
- Broad and deep network among several members in different organisational levels of companies within the respective target industries (Chemical, Pulp & Paper)
- Good level of product knowledge of the built environment and energy management market
- Motivation and drive to identify and search out new strategic customer opportunities
- Experience and gravitas to be credible to build relationships at board level
- Ability to evidence levels of pace and activity in prospecting and lead generation
- First class sales and negotiation skills; the ability to support developing and delivering professional sales proposals
- Proven interpersonal and effective communication skills, with the ability to influence those parties that will be delivering the end customer solution
- An understanding of large customer energy requirements, and the gas and electricity products offered to meet their needs
- Commercial acumen to understand the trade-offs between risk and reward
- Understands the energy market in the UK, Italy and Germany, as well as key drivers and the effect it has on UK, IT and GER business energy customers
- Be fluent in English and - in dependence of the market of relevance - Italian or German
