  E.ON Climate & Renewables (ECR) is looking for the Risk & Investment department in Essen for a/an

Risk Analyst (m/f)        

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for commercial risk management within ECR Business. Reporting to the ECR Risk Manager you will be for supporting the ECR business in the identification of commercial risks and opportunities, quantification of these risks and proposing appropriate mitigation and management. You will support the ECR Risk Manager in bringing transparency to the risks and opportunities facing the ECR business and support in putting in place appropriate mitigation and management processes.

• Assess risks & chances and the exposures which result from ECR's existing or planned business areas.
• Maintain and update the risk framework, relevant policies and controls that the business requires.
• Support in the preparation of material for the ECR Risk Committee and / or decision making papers for the ECR Board:  To help ensure that the business' financial risks and chances and its exposures are fully understood and communicated appropriately.
• Support in risk exposure reporting, in compliance with E.ON's and ECR's requirements (e.g. Commodity risk report, Enterprise Risk Management (KonTraG), etc.).
• Liaise with ECR Controlling as well and wider stakeholders to streamline and optimize reporting and develop methodologies to quantify risks to assist in decision making.
• Support the ECR Risk Manager in establishing effective interfaces between ECR, Group Management, ECR Controlling, Asset Management and Asset Commercialisation teams.  
• Related projects, such as assessing risk in investment and contract decisions.
• Work with departments across ECR to understand and establish the appropriate risk levels within which the business is able to operate.
• Supporting the Investment Team in North America and Europe based on business needs.

Qualifications

• University degree in Business Economics or Finance is desirable,
• Relevant professional experience in the financial or energy sector, preferably Risk management, Financial controlling or similar area.
• Understanding of the key business value drivers within ECR.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and information and present it in a clear and logical format to senior management.
• Good communication skills and initiative
• Preferred attributes include international/ multicurrency experience and good knowledge of Excel for risk modelling and analysis as well as strong financial acumen.
• Interpersonal skills, acting comfortably in various cultural environments with a sense for diversity and inclusion
• High level of integrity and reliability, and ability to work under pressure to meet challenging targets and time schedules.
• Strong English language skills necessary, other languages will be an advantage
